Aerospace education and unusual celestial phenomena
On November 5, 2024, students of the 6th grade of the Dnipro Lyceum No. 31 "Priority" of the DMR plunged into the world of aerospace education and astronomy.
KYLIMNYK Maryna, the head of the educational and methodical department, introduced the students of the lyceum to the priority areas of the educational process and the activities of the NCAOM.
Lyudmila MARCHENKO, a teacher of the aerospace school and a lecturer of the highest category, told the children about unusual celestial phenomena, comets and meteorites.
Students learned that the brightest meteor shower is the Perseid meteor shower, which occurs a minute into the decade before Halley's Comet approaches Earth again in 2061.
At the end of the meeting, the students got acquainted with the Sikhote-Alinsky meteorite. The name of the meteorite comes from the place of its fall. It was very large, and when it hit the ground, it broke into a huge number of fragments. To date, almost 30 tons of its fragments have been collected. Specimens of this meteorite can be found in many museum and private collections.
The children were able to touch one of these fragments of the meteorite themselves to feel the cosmic energy and make their secret wishes.
