O.M. Makarov National Youth Aerospace Education Center
On 12 September 1996, the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma and the patriarch of the national rocketry, Oleksandr Maksymovych Makarov, who turned 90 that day, opened the National Youth Aerospace Education Center.
The President's words at this moment were also symbolic: ‘I am confident that with today's opening of the Centre we have put an end to the talk that the aerospace industry does not exist in Ukraine. I think it's quite the opposite...’
