Scientific Research Department
The Scientific Research Department is a structural unit of the O.M. Makarov National Youth Aerospace Education Center.
Main tasks:
- Implementation of a set of research and development works to improve the technology of manufacturing rocket and space technology products.
- Carrying out work on the analysis of scientific and technical information and the results of research work in various technological areas.
- Development of scientific and technical reports, educational and methodological materials for specialists of rocket and space enterprises, teachers and students of higher education institutions and colleges.
The department employs engineers and scientists who have extensive experience in research and development work to create new advanced technologies and design unique non-standard technological equipment at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering Technology (UkrRIMET).
UkrRIMET performed a range of works on technological support for the design and production of rocket and space technology and was the main enterprise of the State Space Agency of Ukraine for the development of advanced technological processes, non-standard technological equipment and tooling, and non-destructive quality control tools and methods at all stages of rocket and space technology production.
The staff of UkrRIMET performed research and development work in the following areas:
- Blanking production
- Assembly production
- Electroplating and chemical production
- Production of products from composite materials
- Non-destructive testing methods
- Metrological support
Currently, the team of the Research Department is actually the successor of the experience, knowledge, developments, methodology of organizing work on technological support for the design and manufacture of space and rocketry products and scientific and technical developments of UkrRIMET.
The existing experience and close ties with industrial enterprises, design bureaus, institutes of the Academy of Sciences and universities allow us to develop technologies and equipment of almost any complexity for both the industry and other machine-building enterprises in Ukraine.
The Scientific Research Department participates in the development and implementation of new design and technological solutions for the technological equipment of the State Enterprise Yuzhnoye Design Bureau named after M.K. Yangel and the State Enterprise Production Association O.M. Makarov Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant.
